myAllstate is where an Allstate Canada claim lives after the first report
Allstate Canada gives you three doors into the same claim: the myAllstate website, the Allstate Canada mobile app, or the claims phone line, which answers around the clock. Whichever you use first, myAllstate is where the file sits afterward. It lets you upload documents and follow the claim as it moves, so the photos you took in the lot and any report number can go into one place instead of being read out over the phone twice.
The app is not the first step after a crash. An injury, even a sore neck that seems minor, makes it a 911 call before anything else. Where no one is hurt, a Collision Reporting Centre visit usually comes before the Allstate report whenever the two cars’ damage together may exceed the provincial threshold or the other car left; aim to get there within a day. Allstate expects to hear about the loss promptly, and Ontario’s standard policy wording allows a week, but the appraisal and any rental can only start once the claim is open.
One caution about research. Much of what turns up online under the Allstate name describes the American company, including photo-claim tools and network sizes that belong to the US operation. Allstate Canada is its own business. When an article promises a feature, check that it appears in myAllstate before planning around it.
The Good Hands guarantee is tied to two conditions, and both can lapse
The Good Hands Repair Network is Allstate Canada’s network of approved repair centres for auto work (the same name covers home repairs). Allstate Canada has said network repairs carry its guarantee while the vehicle is still yours and still insured by Allstate. Read that sentence twice, because it carries two conditions, not one.
Selling the car ends it, which most people expect. Moving your policy to a different insurance company ends it too, and that one surprises people. Renewal is when a lot of households compare quotes, and Ontario’s 2026 auto reform, which applies to policies renewed from July 1, 2026, gives drivers another reason to look at theirs. If there is a fair chance you will switch companies at the next renewal, a guarantee that depends on staying put is worth less to you than it sounds.
None of this makes the network a poor choice. A network repair centre may be close to your home, the approval may move quickly, and the guarantee is real for as long as both conditions hold. The point is to weigh it with the conditions attached.
An Allstate adjuster can book a Good Hands centre on the first call, and you can name another shop instead
In Ontario the repair shop is yours to choose. Allstate can suggest a Good Hands centre during the first conversation, and the adjuster may offer to book it on the spot. You can say yes, or you can name the shop you want and ask that the appraisal be arranged there. The policy you hold and its deductible do not change with the choice of shop.
Crash Consultant is not part of the Good Hands Repair Network, and Allstate’s guarantee does not extend to work done here. The shop’s own lifetime warranty on paint and refinish applies instead, and it does not hinge on keeping an Allstate policy. On an Allstate file our estimator submits the repair estimate with pictures of the damage, and if the car comes apart and shows more damage than the outside suggested, a supplement goes to Allstate for approval before that work starts.
A crash the other driver caused is still an Allstate claim for your car. DCPD makes your own policy pay for the vehicle damage, provided the other car is identified and covered by an Ontario-licensed insurance company, so the Allstate adjuster stays your contact throughout.
Pembridge policies and 2026 renewal options to check before pick-up
Pembridge is an Allstate company in Ontario, and some drivers carry a Pembridge card without connecting it to Allstate. If yours says Pembridge, report through the channels on your Pembridge documents and ask the adjuster whether the Good Hands network and its guarantee apply to your policy; do not assume they do.
The other thing to pull up before the car is ready is your current declarations page. Allstate’s own explanation of the 2026 reform lists new optional products, among them claim forgiveness and a disappearing deductible on Collision and All Perils. Whether you added either at renewal can change how this claim affects your premium and how much deductible you pay, so read the declarations page before pick-up rather than finding out at the counter.
- Claim number and the adjuster’s name, from myAllstate or the first call.
- The police report number from the reporting centre visit, where there was one.
- Whether your policy is Allstate or Pembridge, and which deductible applies.
- Any optional 2026 products you added at renewal, such as claim forgiveness.
- Whether your rental is covered under OPCF 20 or because you were not at fault.
Questions people ask
Does Allstate’s Good Hands guarantee cover a repair done at Crash Consultant?
No. That guarantee belongs to Allstate’s network and we are not in it. Paint and refinish work done here is covered by the shop’s lifetime warranty instead, and switching to another company at renewal leaves that warranty in place.
Can I upload my Collision Reporting Centre paperwork to myAllstate?
myAllstate lets you upload documents to your claim, so the report number, photos of the damage and the other driver’s details can go there. Uploading early saves the adjuster from asking for them later.
I might switch from Allstate at my next renewal. Does that change where I should repair the car?
It is worth factoring in. Allstate ties the Good Hands guarantee to keeping your Allstate policy as well as owning the car, so a switch ends it. A shop warranty that stays with the car is unaffected by the switch.
The other driver was at fault. Why is Allstate handling my repair and not their company?
Because of DCPD. When the other car is identified and insured by an Ontario-licensed insurance company, Allstate pays for the damage to your car under your own policy, and the at-fault driver’s company has no part in that repair. If the other car was unidentified or uninsured, ask Allstate which coverage applies.
